Read: Psalm 130:5-8

The Psalmist didn’t lose hope, waiting upon the Lord. Out of the depths of his heart, he trusted that the Lord would be true to His word of forgiveness and redemption. Assured of God’s power and faithfulness, he called on his nation not to lose hope in Him. Redemption in God is abundant; His goodness covers the almost lifelong unrighteousness of those who will come to Him for forgiveness.

Thought to ponder

The unquestionable trust of the Psalmist in God was demonstrated when he continually waited upon Him, though he didn’t know when his plea for mercy would be granted. He banked on God’s promises of cleansing and healing from the stains of sin in this world.

“God is faithful, and by Him you were called to the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:9)

“He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” (Micah 7:19)

Prayer

Our Lord and God, our waiting upon You regarding different aspects of our lives will not be in vain. If you were faithful to us in the past, you will be so in the present and in the future. Indeed, Your redemption is abundant because You redeemed us from all iniquities in this world. Amen.
