Read: Psalm 9:9-12

While God takes care of the people they oppress, the unrighteous could never escape His. punishment, The Lord won’t forsake those who trust in Him, He will be a refuge for them. Aside from putting God’s deeds and praises to Him in song, singing to God includes responding to His goodness in gratitude through devotion and good works. These days, seeking retribution for the oppressed could mean restoring their honor, making up for the harm done to them and generally changing the unfavorable circumstances in which they find themselves.

Food for thought

Clinging to God’s faithfulness and submitting to His sovereignty won’t be in vain. The Lord doesn’t forget the humble before Him, both the poor and the rich.

“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who take refuge in Him.” (Nahum 1:7)

“My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold, and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence.” (2 Samuel 22:3)

Prayer

Our God and Lord, in You are compassion and justice for the oppressed. Most of all, You don’t forget those who submit to Your will. We pray for strength in times of weakness and refresh our memory, remembering that You are our refuge. Empower us to share the blessings of having You as our refuge. Amen.
