Read: 2 Corinthians 5:1-17

Like Paul, believers must take great care in guiding the ministry and spiritual lives of the people they minister to. After accomplishing the task of introducing people to accept and have faith in God’s grace through Jesus, believers must be keen on guiding them to lead a life befitting God’s people. As disciple makers, they should nurture people to share the gospel and be disciples themselves.

Thoughts to Ponder

These passages abound with gems to reflect on. The spiritual transformation in life in Christ is characterized by radical newness in one’s value system: “The old has gone, the new is here.” Since the old self died, believers no longer live for themselves but for the Lord.

“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:24)

“We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4)

Prayer

Our God and Lord, grant us grace to constantly be fixed to live in Your Spirit. Let us be bold in opposing worldly convictions that force us to compromise our faith in You. By Your mercy, let the new life You blessed us with flourish for Your glory. Amen.
